I&O Blue Ash Subdivision |
The Blue Ash sub-division of the I&O was constructed in the 1870's as a narrow gauge route for the Cincinnati, Lebanon & Northern Railroad. Purchased by the Pennsylvania, it subsequently became part of Penn Central and Conrail, prior to being sold to I&O in 1986. Interesting to note, a branch at one time left the main at Blue Ash to Montgomery. Once a through route to Dayton from Court Street in downtown Cincinnati, the line is intact between the B&O connection at East Norwood and Fields Ertel Road in Brecon, and then is intact south of Mason to Lebanon which is the I&O Mason Subdivision.
